Altezza Tail Lights

Ever since their invention of cars, many innovations have been applied to vehicles, which include the installation of Head Lights and Tail Lights. The Head Lights are used specifically to lighten up the car's front path in the dark, and the tail lights are used for safety reasons that include turn signaling, braking, parking and for emergency signaling purposes. To give the car a stylish look, Altezza lights can be installed.

Altezza lights have a distinct look compared to conventional Tail Lights seen on most cars today. They still serve the same purpose as any other Tail Lights but are designed in a different way. People associate the look with European cars since many sports cars there have Altezza lights.

Origin

The style was first used on the rear light clusters on the first generation Lexus IS, which was sold in Japan under the brand name Toyota Altezza. This iconic style of lamp units became known in many circles as 'Lexus-style' or 'Altezza-style' tail lights.

Prior to the release of the Altezza, the Mark IV Toyota Supra (probably inspired by Ferrari car designs at that time ) used an encased tail lamp assembly which essentially started the trend. The Mark I Altezza gained popularity due to the fact that the inside housing was finished in chrome whereas the Toyota Supra lamps came in a darker gun-metal grey color.

Its style and design was widely accepted and various cars (particularly European cars) have now adopted the style.

Altezza lights are finely crafted lights for the car and serve the purpose of lighting areas that are extremely dark. The light is very bright and has safety features. Altezza lights are mounted on the rear end of the vehicle, providing the person driving behind the car with ample warning about its movements.

Altezza lights have red lights for brake warning and turn signal lights that blink. The tail light lens can come in smoked or clear versions, depending on the person's taste. Other tail light lens colors are also available for custom designs.

There are many Altezza lights available on the market for various car models (many can be found on the Internet). Some people opt to have their Altezza lights custom-made to have them fitted on other car models, while other people buy Altezza lights and modify them. If ever you want to add an elegant European touch to your car, try installing Altezza lights

Market

Some of the first Altezza lights were manufactured by the A.P.C company for the 94-95 Honda Accord. The tail lamps of the Accord matched the Toyota Altezza in shape and size. Currently Altezza lights design is popular and not limited to after-market replacements taillights even influencing the taillight design of many new car models.

The Altezza  repacement Tail Lights are available for popular car models and manufactured mostly from China and Taiwan. Due to competition among after-market companies to produce low cost products, it is not uncommon to have quality issues with a number of these replacement lights such as poor fitting, low quality plastic, water leakage, or inferior chrome coating.
